Adeleke Urges Security Agencies To Keep Osun Peaceful

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has urged security agencies to remain impartial in the state’s political affairs, stressing that Osun, being the home state of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, should not be allowed to descend into conflict.

The governor made the appeal at the Government House in Osogbo during the decoration of his Aide-De-Camp, Deputy Superintendent of Police Ahmed Bio Abdulraman, who was recently promoted. The event drew senior security officials, including the state’s Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, the NSCDC Commandant, Igbalawole Sotiyo, and other service chiefs.

Adeleke praised the Nigeria Police Force for its professionalism and discipline, commending the Inspector General of Police and the Osun Command for ensuring law and order in the state. He specifically lauded Commissioner Gotan’s leadership, which he said has fostered peace and stability.

He cautioned security agencies against partisanship, insisting that law enforcement must provide a level playing field for all political actors. According to him, Osun belongs to everyone and must not be turned into a battleground despite its political importance.

Turning to his ADC, Adeleke described Abdulraman as a disciplined and loyal officer who embodies the values of the police. He said the promotion reflected his dedication and urged him to continue serving with distinction.

The governor also acknowledged the sacrifices of security operatives across the country, describing the police as an institution vital to national stability and deserving of public appreciation.

In his remarks, Commissioner Gotan congratulated Abdulraman on his promotion, reminding him that higher rank comes with greater responsibility. He pledged that the Osun Command would continue to uphold fairness, respect for human rights, and adherence to the rule of law.

Gotan also assured the governor that security agencies in the state remain committed to maintaining peace and stability. He described Abdulraman as a role model and encouraged other officers to emulate his dedication and professionalism.
