Yilwatda Vows To Make APC Nigerians Top Political Choice

National chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, says he is determined to reposition the ruling party as the number one choice for Nigerians across all regions and backgrounds.

Speaking on Tuesday in Abuja after inspecting the party’s ICT data centre under construction at the APC national secretariat, Yilwatda said his leadership would eliminate every barrier to the party’s growth and make it a stronger national institution.

He was accompanied by Imo State Governor and chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF), Hope Uzodimma, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo, and members of the APC National Working Committee.

Yilwatda said the APC would rely on its grassroots structures and support from governors to build a more appealing and efficient platform. He emphasised the importance of technology in expanding the party’s reach and improving internal organisation.

“We are ensuring we know how many people are with us. We want to be able to predict our support base, grow our presence in each state, and strengthen our internal systems through research and technology,” he said.

Asked about the party’s relationship with the Progressive Governors Forum, Yilwatda described it as “very cordial” and a model of party cohesion.

He said the party’s internal unity, conduct of its National Executive Committee (NEC), and collaboration with its governors show that APC remains the dominant force in the country’s politics.

Yilwatda had earlier declared that the party is on track to retain the presidency and secure majority seats in the 2027 elections. He made the statement during a visit by the APC League of Professionals on July 29, saying the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration are boosting the party’s chances nationwide.
