Alhaji Ibrahim Bello, the late Emir of Gusau in Zamfara State, has been laid to rest in a public cemetery in Gusau, in line with his personal request before his passing.

The burial took place on Friday and drew thousands of mourners from across the country, including Governor Dauda Lawal, his deputy Alhaji Mani Mummuni, and several lawmakers from both national and state assemblies. The funeral prayer was held in Gusau and marked by a large turnout of residents, traditional rulers, and political leaders who came to pay their respects.

Though it is tradition for members of the royal family to be buried in the royal graveyard, the late emir made it clear during his lifetime that he preferred to be laid to rest among the people. This unusual choice was confirmed by the Emir of Anka, Alhaji Attahiru Ahmad, who is also the Chairman of the Zamfara State Council of Chiefs.
