President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja on Thursday for Makkah, Saudi Arabia, to perform the Islamic pilgrimage of Umrah and pray for Nigeria’s peace, unity, stability and continued progress.
Before travelling, the President is expected to commission newly acquired Nigerian Air Force equipment at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja.
Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, announced the trip in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to the statement, the visit will allow the President to engage in spiritual reflection and devotion while seeking Allah’s guidance and blessings for Nigeria and its people.
During his stay in Makkah, Tinubu will perform the religious rites of Umrah, a pilgrimage to the holy city undertaken by Muslims as an act of worship.
The President is expected to return to Nigeria next week after completing the pilgrimage.
