Adefolaseye Adebayo, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) House of Representatives candidate for Surulere I Federal Constituency in Lagos State, has alleged a plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to prevent her party from appearing on the ballot in the 2027 general elections.
Adebayo, who is also the South-West Coordinator of the OK Movement, made the allegation in a video posted on her official X account on Saturday.
She claimed she had received information that some individuals were planning to ensure the NDC was excluded from the ballot for the Surulere I Federal Constituency election.
The candidate appealed to the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to take note of the allegation.
Adebayo also alleged that a similar incident occurred during the 2023 general elections, when the Labour Party was reportedly excluded from the ballot in the House of Representatives election for the constituency.
According to her, the Labour Party candidate at the time allegedly colluded with those behind the move, allowing the party to be left off the ballot without consequences.
She claimed that the individuals involved were now planning to repeat the alleged action against the NDC ahead of the 2027 elections.
Adebayo called on the party’s leadership and Nigerians to pay attention to the allegation and ensure that the party’s participation in the forthcoming election was not obstructed.
There has been no response from the APC or INEC to the allegations in the report.
