Former chairman of the Coalition for Peter Obi (CPO), Marcel Ngogbehei, has been appointed Director-General of the alliance between the Tinubu Must Stay Movement and the Directorate of Mobilisation and Integration (DMI) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The appointment places a former organiser of Peter Obi’s 2023 presidential campaign in a political structure mobilising support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election, with emphasis on grassroots engagement and public accountability.
The alliance announced the appointment in a statement issued by its Communications Directorate. Its Board of Trustees chairman and convener, Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, said his more than 25 years of working with Ngogbehei had given him confidence in his leadership abilities.
Abdullahi cited their experience at Galaxy Backbone Plc and the Central Bank of Nigeria, where they contributed to technology projects, including the CBN Cashless Policy and the bank’s Enterprise Architecture function. He said the latter efforts generated savings of more than $1 million.
Ngogbehei previously served as Director of Strategy at the Peter Obi Support Network before becoming chairman of the CPO. He later became DMI Director-General ahead of the organisation’s formal alliance with the Tinubu Must Stay Movement.
The movement said the alliance would challenge opposition parties to present practical alternatives to government policies while also assessing the Tinubu administration’s performance.
It urged political parties criticising the government to explain how they would create jobs, reduce the cost of living, improve electricity supply and strengthen schools and hospitals, including how they would finance their proposals.
Ngogbehei, a Computer and Electronics Engineering graduate of Lagos State University, has worked on technology and public-sector projects in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. He also founded GiveBack2Humanity, an initiative focused on youth mentorship and community development.
As Director-General, he will coordinate the alliance’s organisational structures, grassroots mobilisation and civic-accountability activities ahead of the 2027 elections.
