Former Ondo State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Eyitayo Jegede, SAN, has joined the African Democratic Congress (ADC) alongside other political figures from the PDP and All Progressives Congress (APC).

The development was announced by former Osun State Governor and ADC National Secretary, Rauf Aregbesola, on Thursday.

Aregbesola said he joined the ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and other party leaders at a reception organised in Akure to formally welcome Jegede and the other new members.
According to him, Jegede led the group of politicians who moved into the ADC from both the PDP and APC.

The reception was held at NEPA Park in Akure, where the defectors were formally received by the party leadership.
Jegede, who previously contested the Ondo State governorship election on the PDP platform, attended the event with his supporters and political associates.
Aregbesola said the gathering brought together Atiku, ADC leaders and other party members as the opposition party continues its preparations and political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The latest movement adds another group of established political figures to the ADC in Ondo State as parties and political blocs continue to reorganise ahead of the 2027 elections.
