Troops of the Nigerian Army under Operation Hadin Kai, working with the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), have arrested two suspected logistics suppliers linked to Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.

The suspects were arrested on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, following intelligence on the movement of supplies believed to be intended for terrorist fighters operating around the Yunusari-Mobbar axis.

The operation was carried out by troops of the 159 Battalion and CJTF members in the Gumsa area, where they intercepted the suspected consignment and apprehended two civilians.
The suspects were identified as 50-year-old Mala Mustapha and 40-year-old Massa Aliyu, both from Asaye village in Damasak, Mobbar Local Government Area.
Preliminary investigations indicated that the two men allegedly purchased motorcycle spare parts for terrorist elements believed to be operating between the Yunusari and Mobbar areas.

The operation resulted in the recovery of numerous motorcycle components, including 50 tyres, 10 crankshafts, 50 oil seals, 31 traffic indicators, 49 acceleration cables, 46 clutch cables, 20 spindles, 10 packs of bearings and 20 brake rods.
Other recovered items included 75 gaskets, 20 brake shoes, 80 piston kits, 146 chains and sprockets, 11 speedometers and 15 clutch plates, alongside piston rings, rocker arms, CDI units, shock rubbers, coils, rectifiers, fuel taps, fuel filters, hand pumps and ignition keys.
Security personnel also recovered 145 pairs of footwear, two Tecno Android phones, one smaller Tecno phone and ₦3,200 in cash.
The suspects and the recovered items have been transferred to the 27 Military Intelligence Regiment for further investigation and necessary action.
The arrest is part of ongoing military operations aimed at disrupting the supply networks used by terrorist groups in the North-East.
Troops are continuing intelligence-led operations across the theatre to track terrorist fighters, disrupt their activities and prevent the movement of supplies to their networks.
