The results were announced on Sunday by the Chairman of the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission, Patrick Enyi, at the commission’s headquarters on Onwe Road, Abakaliki.

Among the successful candidates was Osborn Umahi, son of the Minister of Works, David Umahi, who was declared the chairman-elect of Ohaozara Local Government Area.

The other candidates declared winners were Peace Agwu for Ishielu, Paul Ituma for Ohaukwu, Friday Nwuhuo for Ezza North and Chinedu Mkpuma for Ezza South.

Chidiebere Alo emerged as the winner in Abakaliki Local Government Area, while Chibueze Odigwe was declared elected chairman of Ebonyi Local Government Area.

Announcing the results, Enyi described the election as peaceful and credible, adding that political parties other than the APC also participated in the exercise.

He commended residents for coming out to vote and exercise their constitutional rights, while also appreciating security agencies for maintaining order throughout the election.

Speaking after his victory, Osborn Umahi praised the state electoral commission for what he described as a transparent and peaceful election.

The Ohaozara chairman-elect pledged to focus on improving rural communities, creating opportunities for young people and boosting agriculture during his tenure.

He said his administration would work towards initiatives capable of improving the living conditions of residents and strengthening economic activities within the local government.

Meanwhile, the APC Chairman in Ebonyi State, Stanley Okoro Emegha, described the party’s victory across the 13 local government areas as evidence of its strong political position in the state.

Emegha said the result showed increasing support for the APC among residents and expressed confidence that the party would maintain its electoral strength in Ebonyi ahead of the 2027 general elections.
