FULL LIST: IG Deploys New CPs to Eight States, Other Police Formations

The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has approved the deployment of new Commissioners of Police to eight state commands and several strategic police formations across the country as part of efforts to improve operational efficiency and strengthen policing.

The deployment, announced on Thursday in a statement by the Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, received the approval of the Police Service Commission. The police said the reshuffle is intended to strengthen leadership across commands, improve operational effectiveness and support ongoing reforms within the Force.

The newly appointed Commissioners of Police for the affected state commands are Afolabi Wilfred Olutokunbo for Abia, Ayodeji Faniyan for Plateau, Saka Adewale Ajao for Bayelsa, Ajo Geoffrey Ordue for Cross River, Nanna Oji Ama for Anambra, Patrick Daaor for Edo, Tani Murtala for Jigawa and Samuel Erale for Delta.

The Inspector-General also approved the posting of senior officers to strategic departments and formations, including the Force Intelligence Department (FID), Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID), Department of Finance and Administration (DFA), Department of Training and Development (DTD), the Police Academy and the Police Staff College.

According to the statement, the new postings include CP Yemi John Oyeniyi to the Force Intelligence Department, Abuja; CP Charles Ezekwesiri Dike to INTERPOL at the Force Criminal Investigation Department, Abuja; CP Aina Adesola to the Department of Finance and Administration under the Department of Training and Development at Force Headquarters, Abuja; and CP Uduak Ita Otu to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the FCID Annex in Alagbon, Lagos.

Other deployments include CP Abdullateef Ajape Yusuf to the General Investigation Department of the FCID, Abuja; CP Taiwo A. Adedeji to the Counter Terrorism Unit at Force Headquarters, Abuja; CP Ajayi Oluyemi to the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the FCID, Abuja; and CP Bolanle Aremu to the Department of Finance and Administration at Force Headquarters.

The list also includes CP Ibrahim Lukunche Usman, who was posted to the Inspectorate Department under the Department of Training and Development at Force Headquarters; CP Mohammed Hassan Ahmed as Deputy Commandant of the Police Staff College in Jos; CP Rita Oyintare Oki to the Department of Finance and Administration at the Force Headquarters Annex in Lagos; and CP Ibrahim Umar D. Zungura as Administration Commissioner at the FCID Annex in Kaduna.

Additional postings announced by the police include CP Nelson Nwamana to the Police Academy in Kano, CP Danbaba Mohammed Labbo to the Force Criminal Investigation Department Annex in Gombe, while Mohammed Hassan Ahmed and Rita Oyintare Oki also received fresh assignments as part of the wider redeployment.

The Inspector-General urged the newly deployed commissioners to apply their experience in strengthening intelligence-led policing, improving operational performance, promoting professionalism and building stronger relationships with communities.

He also directed the senior officers to remain committed to protecting lives and property while maintaining discipline, accountability and quality service delivery.

The police said the latest redeployment forms part of ongoing efforts to improve operational capacity, strengthen internal structures and deliver better policing services across the country.
