A Federal High Court in Gusau, Zamfara State, has scheduled August 31, 2026, to deliver judgment in a suit filed by Dr. Sani Abdullahi Shinkafi challenging the conduct of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zamfara North Senatorial primary election.

Justice Hassan Dikko fixed the date on Friday after all parties in the case adopted their final written addresses, bringing the hearing to a close ahead of judgment.

Shinkafi, an APC senatorial aspirant, instituted the suit against the APC, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and Senator Sahabi Ya’u, alleging irregularities in the party’s primary election for the Zamfara North Senatorial District.
Speaking after the court session, counsel to the plaintiff, Bello Galadi, confirmed that the matter came up for the adoption of final written submissions by all parties involved in the case.
According to him, the plaintiff and the three defendants successfully adopted their written addresses, after which the court adjourned the case for judgment.
Galadi expressed confidence that the court would decide the matter based on the evidence and legal arguments presented before it.
The judge, who presided over the proceedings virtually, fixed August 31 for the delivery of judgment after all parties concluded the adoption of their final written submissions.
