They said insecurity remains widespread and many Nigerians are still being attacked and kidnapped.

Trump made the remarks during an event in Washington, where he claimed US military operations had stopped the massacre of Christian communities and eliminated key terrorist leaders.

He said the intervention prevented further attacks by weakening those behind the violence.

The Chairman of CAN in the 19 northern states and the FCT, Joseph Hayab, said only victims of insecurity could judge whether the situation had improved.

He argued that killings and abductions continue across several states and urged the US to provide genuine support instead of making political claims.

The bishops also said they had not seen convincing proof that the reported intervention had solved Nigeria’s security problems.

They called for stronger and lasting efforts by both Nigerian authorities and international partners to protect lives and tackle the root causes of insecurity.
