Governor Seyi Makinde said a temporary 16-hour curfew remains in place across 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park to aid the mission.

Makinde disclosed that the state’s surveillance aircraft is now at the final stage before delivery.

He explained that extra technical, regulatory and safety checks delayed its arrival beyond the earlier June target, but the aircraft will be ready for immediate use once handed over.

The governor said security agencies are working together to secure the safe release of the victims while plans are also being made for the safe reopening of schools.

He assured residents that the government remains focused on protecting pupils, teachers and their communities.

Makinde added that the surveillance aircraft will improve aerial monitoring, emergency response and other security operations across the state.

He thanked residents for their patience and cooperation, promising to keep the public informed as rescue efforts and the aircraft delivery progress.
