Both camps claimed to be the party’s legitimate leadership and insisted their candidates would be recognised.

In Abuja, the faction led by FCT Minister Nyesom Wike unveiled its candidates and urged members to focus on winning elections rather than complaining about past defeats.

The group expressed confidence that INEC would acknowledge its leadership when candidate submissions begin.

At a separate event, the faction headed by Tanimu Turaki announced that it had produced candidates for all elective positions.

The camp said it completed screenings and nominated contestants for governorship, legislative and presidential races ahead of 2027.

The rival camps also presented different lists of candidates, exposing the deep divisions within the opposition party.

The dispute is expected to intensify as the deadline for submitting candidates approaches and both sides battle for official recognition.
