He spoke after the death of retired Major General Rabe Abubakar, who died while being held by kidnappers in Katsina State.

Hayatu-Deen said the killing of the retired army officer reflects the dangers facing Nigerians across the country.

He also pointed to the continued captivity of schoolchildren and teachers abducted in Oyo State, as well as recent attacks in Kogi, Borno and Kaduna states, where lives were lost and communities disrupted.

He argued that insecurity is closely linked to poverty and unemployment, warning that economic hardship is making it easier for criminal groups to recruit new members.

According to him, governments at all levels should provide more support for businesses, farmers and vulnerable families while improving welfare programmes.

The politician also called for stronger security measures, including increased funding for the military, better welfare for security personnel, improved intelligence gathering and support for state policing.

He urged both government and citizens to work together to tackle insecurity and restore public safety across the country.
