He said information leaked by residents to armed groups is making security operations more difficult. According to him, such actions continue to aid attacks on communities and security personnel.
Musa noted that some criminal groups rely heavily on intelligence provided by people within affected areas.
He explained that these informants often reveal troop movements, security plans and the locations of vulnerable targets. This, he said, allows attackers to evade security forces and carry out operations more effectively.
The defence chief urged communities to cooperate with security agencies by providing useful information rather than assisting criminal elements.
He stressed that defeating insecurity requires collective effort from both citizens and security institutions. He also called for greater vigilance in areas facing security threats.
Musa maintained that ongoing military operations are recording progress despite the challenges.
He said authorities remain committed to tackling terrorism, banditry and other forms of violent crime.
The defence chief added that stronger community support would improve the effectiveness of security efforts across the country.
