Amupitan Promises Credible Election In Ekiti

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Joash Amupitan, has assured residents of Ekiti State of a credible election process and adequate security ahead of future polls.

He gave the assurance during an engagement with stakeholders in the state.

Amupitan said the commission is committed to strengthening trust in the electoral system through transparency, improved logistics and strict adherence to electoral guidelines.

He noted that lessons from past elections are being used to improve preparations.

Security agencies also pledged readiness to ensure a peaceful voting environment.

They said plans are in place to deploy personnel across polling units and sensitive areas to prevent disruptions during the election period.

The INEC chairman urged political parties, candidates and voters to play by the rules and avoid actions that could undermine the process.

He stressed that a free and fair election depends on the cooperation of all stakeholders involved.
