DSS Should Invite Igboho For Questioning – Atiku’s Aide

Paul Ibe, media aide to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has called on the Department of State Services and other security agencies to question Yoruba Nation campaigner Sunday Igboho over his claims about politicians linked to kidnappers in Oyo State.

He made the appeal following rising concern over the abduction of students and teachers in the state. The incident has added to growing fears over insecurity in parts of the South-West.

Authorities have not yet responded publicly to the request.

The call came after Igboho said during a meeting with the National Association of Nigerian Students that he knew individuals allegedly backing kidnappers operating in the region.

Ibe argued that security agencies should act on any information that could help rescue victims and disrupt criminal groups.

He said such intelligence should not be ignored if it can support ongoing investigations. The remarks have drawn wider attention to the case.

The Oyo incident involved the kidnapping of students and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area, an attack that has raised concern in communities previously seen as relatively calm.

The situation has intensified calls for stronger protection of schools and better security responses. Ibe also questioned the federal government’s handling of a similar abduction case in Borno State involving schoolchildren.

He pointed to what he described as differences in official responses to both situations.

Igboho, in his own comments, said kidnappers could be dislodged if authorities take decisive action and claimed some politicians support criminal groups.
