Imo APC Primary Dispute Worsens
An aspirant for the Ahiazu-Mbaise seat in the Imo State House of Assembly, Ezechukwu Obinna, has rejected the outcome of the All Progressives Congress primary election.
He said he spent over ₦100 million in his attempt to secure the party ticket but still lost.
Obinna accused the APC of making the nomination process too expensive for aspirants, claiming that the sale of forms and related demands placed heavy financial pressure on contestants.
He also faulted the emergence of the candidate announced for the constituency, describing the result as unacceptable and imposed.
He insisted the process did not reflect the true choice of party members.
Obinna maintained that he would not accept the outcome, warning that the handling of the primaries could deepen internal tension within the party ahead of future elections.
