Officials said the circulating information was misleading and did not reflect the court’s actual decision.

The clarification was issued on Thursday by the Legal Officer of the FCTA Public Health Department, Idris Suleiman.

According to the department, the ruling delivered by Justice Yusuf Halilu only applied to a specific case involving H-Medix Pharmacy Limited.

Authorities explained that the order merely stopped further sittings connected to the applicant in the suit and did not affect wider enforcement operations across the FCT.

The administration insisted that environmental inspections and public health monitoring were still ongoing.

The department advised residents and business owners to ignore rumours of a total shutdown of enforcement activities.

It also confirmed that its offices remained open while prosecution of offenders in environmental and food safety matters continued without interruption.
