MCE Invites Obasanjo, Jonathan, Atiku &Others For 2027 Talks
The Movement for Credible Elections has invited top Nigerian political figures, including former presidents, ex-vice presidents, senior lawyers, labour leaders and civil society actors, for a high-level summit in Abuja ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2026, at the NICON Luxury Hotel.
The organisers said the gathering is aimed at building a common direction for credible, peaceful and transparent elections in 2027.
They also plan to use the outcome of the meeting as part of preparations for an engagement with the Independent National Electoral Commission.
The invite list includes former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan, Atiku Abubakar and Yemi Osinbajo, alongside legal experts like Femi Falana, Olisa Agbakoba and Wole Olanipekun.
Labour leaders and civil society figures are also expected to attend, including Joe Ajaero, Ayuba Wabba and Oby Ezekwesili.
Political actors such as Peter Obi, Rotimi Amaechi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Omoyele Sowore and Seyi Makinde are also among those invited.
Organisers say the meeting will focus on reforms, electoral integrity and strengthening trust in Nigeria’s democratic process ahead of the next election cycle.
