APC Shifts Govt And Assembly Primaries In Three States

The All Progressives Congress has moved its governorship and State Assembly primary elections in Bauchi, Kwara and Zamfara to new dates following a review of its election timetable.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, announced the changes on Thursday, saying the governorship primaries in Bauchi and Kwara will now hold on May 22, 2026.

He also said the assembly primaries in Maradun I and II in Zamfara have been moved to May 24, 2026.


The adjustment was approved by the party’s National Working Committee after consultations with stakeholders.

The APC said the step is part of efforts to ensure a smooth, fair and orderly primary process.


The rescheduling affects key party contests ahead of the 2027 general elections as the APC continues preparations across the country.
