The group insisted that his candidacy could weaken the party’s chances at the polls.

The demonstrators accused Bello of failing to take part in the party’s screening exercise before the senatorial primary.

They also alleged that his actions went against party rules and internal democratic procedures, calling on the APC leadership to intervene before the situation escalates further.

Protest leaders, including Musa Adabara, urged the National Working Committee to act against what they described as attempts to undermine the party’s values.

Some protesters further claimed that Bello stayed away from the screening due to concerns over possible investigation by anti corruption agencies, allegations that remain unverified.

The protest followed a petition challenging the outcome of the APC senatorial primary in Kogi Central.

The petitioner alleged irregularities, intimidation and exclusion of some aspirants, while calling for a review of the process or a fresh primary conducted under stricter supervision.
