Plateau Declares War On Terrorists

The Plateau State Government has launched fresh measures against rising attacks across parts of the state after an emergency security meeting in Jos.

Officials described the situation as a battle against terrorists and criminal groups behind months of violence.

The meeting, led by Governor Caleb Mutfwang, brought together security chiefs, local government chairmen and traditional rulers.

Authorities said the state had faced repeated coordinated attacks over the past four months, forcing the government to tighten security operations.

Following the meeting, the government ordered stronger enforcement of the ban on motorcycles, illegal mining and night grazing.

Security agencies were also directed to take back troubled areas and improve surveillance with additional vehicles and motorcycles.

The council further warned against blocking roads during protests or unrest, saying offenders would face prosecution.

The government also announced a crackdown on drug dealers and users while promising better protection for farmers ahead of the planting season.
