The presidency has criticised the Nigeria Democratic Congress, saying the party lacks a clear programme ahead of the 2027 election.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga made the remark on Friday while reacting to the growing attention around the party following the arrival of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso.

Onanuga described the NDC as a gathering point for politicians searching for a new platform.

He argued that despite the party’s growing profile, it had failed to present a detailed vision or roadmap for governing Nigeria.

According to him, attempts to access the party’s manifesto on its website were unsuccessful.

He said the site repeatedly returned “No document found” despite directing visitors to download the manifesto and policy materials.

The presidential aide also argued that the few policy ideas displayed on the website were too vague to serve as a strong national agenda.

Still, he said he hoped the party would eventually release a clearer vision as political activities ahead of 2027 continue to gather pace.
