Wike Unveils Apo Mechanics New Site
Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike says the long-awaited relocation of Apo Mechanics to Wassa is finally happening under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He spoke on Thursday after inspecting ongoing projects across Abuja, including roads in Wassa, Katampe and Gaduwa.
Wike described the relocation as a breakthrough after years of failed attempts by past administrations.
He said road construction at the new Wassa informal sector site is almost complete, while solar streetlights and water facilities will soon be added to support artisans and traders moving into the area.
The minister said the project would improve business activities and boost the FCT’s internally generated revenue.
He added that the government had already provided key infrastructure and was expecting businesses to begin operations at the new location.
Wike also praised the pace of work on other road projects in Abuja, including the OSEX carriageway and Road CN2 near Gishiri.
He insisted that land allocations by the FCT Administration remain lawful and warned that undeveloped plots could still be reclaimed by the government.
