FCT Police Begins Mental Checks
The Commissioner of Police for the FCT Command, Ahmed Sanusi, has ordered mental health screening for officers in Abuja.
The move was announced after a meeting with senior police officials at the command headquarters.
The directive aims to improve discipline, decision-making, and overall performance among personnel.
The exercise will start on May 4, beginning with junior officers across the command.
Police authorities say the assessment will focus on emotional stability and conduct, both on and off duty.
Officers have also been warned to follow rules and respect human rights in all operations.
The action comes amid growing concern over police behaviour nationwide, with the command urging residents of the Federal Capital Territory to stay law-abiding and report suspicious activities.
