Era of Impunity In Police Force Is Over – IGP
Olatunji Rilwan Disu has declared that misconduct in the Nigeria Police Force will no longer be tolerated after the Effurun shooting in Delta State.
He said officers who misuse weapons will face dismissal and prosecution.
The police chief made the remarks in Uyo during the passing out of over 1,000 retrained constables.
He warned that firearms must only be used within the law and as a last option, stressing the need for discipline and proper training.
He also cautioned against extortion, alcohol use on duty, and reckless behaviour, adding that offenders will face strict punishment.
The message was aimed at restoring public trust and improving professionalism in the force.
Meanwhile, Baba Mohammed Azare announced a new unit to tackle violent crimes in the state.
