It featured the presentation of a new manual by senior lawyer Emmanuel C Ukala.

Wike said appellate work demands deeper reasoning than trial cases and requires lawyers to be more careful with arguments and procedure.

He explained that success at that level depends on clarity, structure and a strong grasp of the law.

He added that many lawyers struggle because they do not fully understand the demands of appellate courts.

Wike also reflected on his early legal career, noting that he once worked with Ukala and gained lessons that shaped his approach to law.

The event drew top judges, senior lawyers and legal experts from across the country, including members of the bench and bar.
