Obi, Kwankwaso Camp Forms New Alliance

Supporters of Peter Obi and Rabiu Kwankwaso have formed a new pressure group ahead of the African Democratic Congress presidential primary for 2027.

The group, unveiled in Abuja on Monday, says it already has structures across all states and the FCT.

It brings together members of Obidients, Kwankwasiyya, New Nigeria People’s Party and ADC. The move comes as opposition alliances shift and the race for the party ticket heats up.

The group, known as the OK Movement, says it aims to build a strong nationwide base to influence the primary.

Its spokesperson explained that coordinators have been appointed across regions to drive mobilisation.

The platform is designed to mirror the grassroots strength seen during the 2023 elections. It positions itself as a united front for supporters of both Obi and Kwankwaso.

Leaders of the movement say the initiative responds to economic hardship, rising costs and insecurity facing Nigerians.

They describe it as a coordinated effort to push for reform and national renewal. Plans are underway to formally launch state chapters in the coming weeks.

The group also says it welcomes Nigerians willing to join its campaign for change.

The development adds pressure within the ADC as more figures show interest in the presidential ticket.

Atiku Abubakar has already declared his intention to run and insists he will not step down.

Other names, including Rotimi Amaechi, are also linked to the race. The party, led by David Mark, continues to attract major political players, making the contest increasingly competitive.
