The five lawmakers, known as the G-5, said no such assurance was given.
Their position was made public in a statement issued in Osogbo. They urged the public to ignore the reports.
The group clarified that the President never held any political meeting with Adeleke. According to them, the only encounter was a Sallah visit by the governor’s family in Lagos.
They said Tinubu had not at any point discussed supporting Adeleke. The lawmakers insisted the claims being circulated are false.
They also questioned the logic behind the rumoured endorsement. The lawmakers argued that the APC already has its own candidate for the poll.
They warned against misleading narratives aimed at confusing voters. The group called on party supporters to stay focused ahead of the election.
The lawmakers reaffirmed their support for APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji. They expressed confidence in the party’s chances in the upcoming vote.
The development adds to political tension as the election approaches. Attention now turns to how campaigns will unfold in the state.
