PDP Crisis Worsens Over Anyanwu Appeal
Fresh tension has hit the Peoples Democratic Party as its National Secretary Samuel Anyanwu moves to overturn a court-backed expulsion.
He filed an appeal at the Court of Appeal after an Abuja High Court upheld a disciplinary decision against him earlier in the year.
The dispute stems from a ruling that backed his removal over alleged anti-party actions.
Anyanwu is now asking the appellate court to cancel both the judgment and the recommendation by the party’s disciplinary body led by Tom Ikimi.
The crisis deepened as the ruling raised doubts about the legality of a recent factional convention linked to Nyesom Wike’s camp.
Concerns have grown over decisions taken while Anyanwu was under suspension, including leadership appointments and party activities.
The earlier court decision also ruled that the matter was an internal party issue and found no proof of unfair treatment.
With the appeal now filed, the battle over control and legitimacy within the PDP is set to continue.
