The project will deploy about 90,000 kilometres of fibre optic cables to improve internet access nationwide.

It is expected to connect more communities and strengthen communication systems.

The funding is part of efforts to boost Nigeria’s digital economy and close connectivity gaps, especially in underserved areas.

Authorities say it will also support businesses and innovation.

With the rollout, the country is set to see better broadband services and increased access to online opportunities, driving growth in key sectors.
