His death was confirmed on Friday by his close friend, Meshak Gimba, who had earlier raised alarm online. The discovery came days after he was reportedly attacked in the city.

Temitope had been declared missing after leaving for the market, prompting his friend to circulate his photo on social media.

A call later directed them to the Jos University Teaching Hospital, where his body was found. The remains had reportedly been deposited earlier by security operatives.

“Adeyemo Oluwafemi Temitope has now been confirmed dead. He has been found, but not alive,” Gimba wrote.

“We initially thought he went missing, and that was why I posted and circulated his picture on Facebook and included my number in case anyone finds him,” he said.

University officials confirmed the incident after visiting the hospital with the student’s friend. Authorities said the family had been contacted and arrangements were underway.

The case comes amid rising insecurity in the area, which recently forced the evacuation of students and suspension of exams.
