The governor said he received complaints from many communities and warned that the situation is crippling daily life.

He directed the company to explain the cause of the outages and work with the state to find quick solutions while longer plans are developed.

He noted that the government is already looking at alternative energy sources, including renewables, and plans to strengthen regulation through a new electricity law and commission.

At the same time, officials have been asked to arrange a meeting with the company and consumer groups to address the crisis.

The blackout has sparked protests in parts of the state, with residents blaming poor supply and rising costs from generator use.

IBEDC had earlier linked the problem to reduced energy allocation, saying it is working with stakeholders to improve supply.
