The countries include the United Kingdom, United States, France, Ireland, Qatar, Benin Republic, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Senegal, and Sierra Leone.

According to ministry spokesperson Kimibie Ebienfa, more responses are still expected from other countries before the process is completed.

An official induction ceremony for the envoys will be announced once arrangements are finalised.

Approvals are still pending for nominees to Germany and Mexico, including Femi Fani-Kayode and Reno Omokri.

The development follows the 2023 recall of ambassadors and the subsequent nomination and confirmation of new envoys, as the government moves to strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic presence worldwide.
