Police Tightens Security For Eid Celebration

The Adamawa State Police Command has deployed heavily armed personnel across Adamawa State to ensure a peaceful Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The command said the move is aimed at stopping criminal activities during the festive period, with officers positioned at key locations including prayer grounds, markets, highways, and the Yola International Airport.
According to police spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, the operation involves multiple units such as tactical teams, intelligence officers, and bomb disposal experts working together to provide full security coverage.
Authorities also increased patrols, stop-and-search operations, and surveillance across urban and rural areas to detect and prevent threats.
The police urged residents to stay alert, cooperate with security agencies, and report any suspicious activities, while assuring that officers have been directed to remain professional and respect citizens’ rights.
The command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting lives and property before, during, and after the Sallah celebrations.
