Parents of National Youth Service Corps members have urged the Federal Government to either guarantee the safety of corps members or scrap the scheme entirely.

The parents said the government must take urgent steps to ensure the safety of young graduates participating in the programme.
According to them, the primary responsibility of the government is to protect citizens, including corps members serving under the National Youth Service Corps scheme.
They warned that if adequate security cannot be guaranteed, the government should reconsider the continuation of the programme.
The parents also called for improved welfare and better security arrangements for corps members during their service year.
