Leaders from both camps are holding private meetings to find a path that could restore unity and keep the party ready for the 2027 elections.

The talks centre on two options being considered by party stakeholders.

One proposal is to form a joint caretaker committee that will represent both factions, while another option is to organise a fresh unity convention to rebuild the party’s leadership structure.

The crisis deepened after the Court of Appeal nullified the PDP convention held in Ibadan last November which produced a new National Working Committee.

Party figures say the reconciliation effort is aimed at preventing further division and ensuring the PDP can field candidates in the next general election.

Discussions among leaders are expected to continue as the party searches for a settlement that can restore stability before political activities intensify.
