Malami Faces Court Again In Abuja
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has again brought former attorney-general of the federation Abubakar Malami before the court, alongside his wife, Asabe Bashir, and their son, Abdulaziz, over alleged money laundering.
The case resumed on Friday in Abuja after it was reassigned to a new judge.
They appeared before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the federal high court for fresh proceedings.
The anti-graft agency said the matter was starting afresh before the new trial judge following the administrative transfer of the case.
During the session, EFCC counsel Jibrin Okutepa informed the court that the case was being heard for the first time under the new judge and requested that the defendants enter their pleas.
The development marks another stage in the legal battle involving the former AGF and his family as the court moves to continue the trial under its new leadership.
