JAMB Speaks Out On UTME Fee Increase

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has rejected reports claiming it raised the cost of registering for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination.

The agency described the claim as “false, misleading and entirely unfounded” in a statement released on Friday.
Fabian Benjamin, spokesperson for the board, said the approved charges remain unchanged despite the circulating reports.
He stated that candidates applying through direct entry are to pay N5,700.
He added that registration for UTME only still costs N7,200, while those opting for UTME with mock examination are required to pay N8,700.
The board urged the public to disregard the rumour, insisting that no increase has been approved and that the existing fees remain in place.
