Court Cancels Malami Bail
A Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday nullified the earlier bail granted to former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, in his ongoing trial.
The ruling followed the reassignment of the case to a new judge.
The court held that since proceedings had started afresh before it, every earlier step taken in the matter no longer stood.
This included the bail earlier approved by Justice Emeka Nwite.
As a result, the judge ruled that Malami must file a new bail application if he wishes to regain his freedom under fresh terms.
Until then, the previous bail conditions cannot apply.
The development marks another turn in the high-profile case, as the former minister now faces continued detention pending further court decisions.
