He said the loss goes beyond the Ogoni people and Rivers State, calling it a painful moment for the country.

He assured the family that they would not be left alone and that steps would be taken to give the senator a befitting burial.

The minister visited Mpigi’s wife, Patricia, and their children, accompanied by his sons and several political figures from Rivers State, including the Speaker of the State House of Assembly and serving and former senators.

He noted that some senior leaders could not travel due to age but sent the delegation in their place.

Patricia Mpigi expressed gratitude for the visit and the support shown to her family, thanking the minister and the delegation for standing with them during a difficult time.
