Zamfara APC Congress Faces Rejection
Sani Jaji, the member representing Kaura-Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency of Zamfara State, has rejected the outcome of the recent All Progressives Congress ward and local government congresses in the state.
Speaking in Gusau on Monday, he described the exercise as flawed and not in line with party rules.
He claimed the process was taken over by certain individuals for personal gain and said several members were blocked from voting.
According to him, officials from the party’s national headquarters denied some aspirants access to forms despite payments made through approved party accounts.
Jaji urged the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, who leads the party in the state, to step in and prevent a repeat of the internal crisis that weakened the party in 2019.
He also asked the National Working Committee to cancel the congresses, dissolve the state working committee and fix a fresh date for a new exercise.
He appealed to party supporters to remain peaceful while awaiting further action from the national leadership, warning that unresolved tensions could deepen divisions within the party.
