Police officers from the Edo State Command stepped in when aggrieved members refused to leave the entrance after being told they were not invited.

Those denied access included former Senate Chief Whip Sir Rowland Owie, party financier Sunny Aguebor and Douglas Iyike of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria.

Owie accused Odigie-Oyegun of sidelining founding members while inviting non-members to the meeting.

He urged the party’s national leadership to intervene, saying loyal members who have been mobilising support across the state deserve respect.

Odigie-Oyegun, when reached, said he was still in a meeting and would address the matter later.
