Suspects Arrested After Deadly APC Congress Attack
Police in Ondo State have arrested 13 men over the violent attack on the All Progressives Congress ward congress in Idanre, Idanre Local Government Area.
The assault, which happened on February 18, left two people dead, three injured and property damaged.
The state police command said the arrests followed an intelligence-led operation ordered by Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal.
Officers from the Idanre Division carried out coordinated raids at key locations after tracking the suspects through surveillance.
According to the command, those arrested are in custody and have given statements to investigators.
Police said efforts are ongoing to uncover the full details of the incident, identify other possible suspects and determine each person’s role in the violence.
The commissioner warned that anyone planning to disrupt public peace would face firm action.
Residents were urged to remain calm and support security agencies with timely information as investigations continue.
