Ogun APC Shifts Time Of LG Congress
The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has ordered that its local government congress fixed for Saturday must not begin before 12 noon.
The directive was issued to party members and officials across the state ahead of the exercise scheduled for February 21, 2026.
The instruction was announced by the state Publicity Secretary, Femi Nuberu, who said no council area should start the process earlier than midday.
He explained that the timing is meant to ensure proper coordination, uniformity and transparency in all local government areas.
“As we proceed to the Local Government Congress scheduled to hold today, 21st of February, 2026, the party leadership hereby directs that no Local Government should commence the exercise earlier than 12:00 noon.
“Our party remains committed to internal democracy, fairness, and credible processes, and we are confident that today’s exercise will further strengthen the unity and structure of our party.”
The party also praised members and leaders for what it described as a smooth and peaceful ward congress held on Wednesday, noting that the calm atmosphere reflected unity and loyalty within its ranks.
