Kebbi Adjusts Workers Hours For Ramadan

The Kebbi State Government has reduced official working hours for civil servants following the start of Ramadan, as declared by the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs.

The move is aimed at easing the daily routine of fasting workers across the state.

The approval was granted by Governor Nasir Idris, according to a statement released on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Establishment, Pension and Training, Hafsat Tune.

Under the new arrangement, civil servants will close at 2:00 p.m. from Monday to Thursday, while work will end at 12:00 p.m. on Fridays.
Workers are expected to comply with the revised timetable throughout the fasting period.
Normal working hours will resume after Ramadan. The practice follows a familiar pattern in many northern states, where governments adjust office schedules during the holy month marked by fasting, prayer and reflection.
