Train Breakdown Leaves Abuja Passengers Stranded
Commuters on the Abuja–Kaduna train faced long delays on Monday after the service broke down near Rijana village.
Passengers were stuck on board for several hours as efforts to restore the train got underway.
Officials from the railway operator were reportedly on site to assess the situation and coordinate repairs, while stranded travellers expressed frustration over the unexpected halt.
The breakdown disrupted the usual schedule, affecting both daily commuters and occasional passengers along the route.
Authorities said alternative arrangements and support were being provided to ensure passengers could continue their journey safely once the train was cleared.
The incident adds to concerns about maintenance and reliability of the Abuja–Kaduna rail line.
Railway users have called for stricter safety checks and timely maintenance to prevent future disruptions, highlighting the impact of technical failures on travel plans and business activities.
