Fayose Reveals Details On Private Political Meeting
Former Ekiti State Governor Ayodele Fayose has revealed details of a private meeting between former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde held in Minna, Niger State.
According to him, the gathering was carefully arranged, with the venue and attendees selected to ensure trust and wider political acceptance.
Fayose said the talks centred on future political alignments, especially with growing uncertainty around potential running mates.
He claimed there were concerns that Peter Obi would neither accept a vice-presidential slot nor be widely embraced in the North as a successor figure.
He further alleged that Atiku is close to securing the presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress after moves to prevent zoning of the position.
In the discussions, Fayose stated that Makinde agreed in principle to join the ADC on the condition that he would be named Atiku’s running mate, subject to approval by Atiku’s inner circle.
He added that another meeting has been scheduled to hold in Dubai within two weeks.
